A Brief Biography

Robert is a writer, public speaker and independent researcher. After two decades spent in the corporate world as a management accountant, he left to study for a Master's Degree in Western Esotericism. He followed this with a PhD in Religious Studies which explores the interplay between Science, Religion, Philosophy and the Paranormal in the late nineteenth century. By investigating early paranormal theories and psychical researchers, he has developed a new typology of the Paranormal Domain. This has proved useful both for scholars of the Victorian period and commentators on contemporary parapsychology and psychical research.

Robert has had a lifelong interest in ghosts, UFOs and psychical phenomena and now writes about and presents talks on a variety of topics related to each of them. He also incorporates paranormal themes into fiction writing and his first novel was published in 2025. He has been a Council Member of the Ghost Club (1862) since 2018 and is a member of the Society for Psychical Research.
